The app will guide you through the entire process. It is also easy to use and set up. Another feature that is impressive is the ability to return to the spot where it began in our tests. It did this for 77 minutes in one cleaning, before running out of battery.
Unlike some of the other robovacs that we test, the i3+ EVO comes with an automatic emptying bin that dumps debris into an external dirt compartment on its charging base when it's filled. This makes it easier to maintain the unit and also helps prevent the i3+ EVO from overfilling, however it must be manually emptied after every cleaning session. The i3+ EVO dustbin can hold 2.4L which will last for four to five cleaning sessions.
Like the i7, this model also uses the latest floor tracking sensors to create maps and navigate neat rows. However, the i3+ EVO only stores one map, whereas the i7 is able to store multiple maps. The i7 is also able to make use of its map to create no-go zones and virtual barriers, however the i3+ EVO can't.
While the i3+ EVO is superior in removing dirt and debris from surfaces than the other robovacs we looked at however, it's not the most effective for cleaning edges and corners. It's also less gentle on furniture, despite being relatively quiet. It was quite rough on furniture, since it pushed chairs away. It also made some collisions against the sides of the test bed.
2. Black & Decker Pro Q5
The Q5 Pro is an excellent option, whether you're expanding your robot vacuum collection or are just beginning to get started. The Q5 Pro's 240-minute run time is also a lot when in comparison to other 2-in-1 robots we tested. When the battery is low, it will automatically return to its dock where it recharges and resumes cleaning from where it left off. You can manage the Q5 Pro via the app and use voice commands with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.
This is one of the first robots we've seen to incorporate 3D mapping. This along with other advances made it perform extremely well in our tests of vacuuming and mopping test. You can schedule cleanings and create no-go zones. You can also see the status of your battery. The app is easy to use, but it doesn't support Apple HomeKit; that feature is expected to be available by 2025. As of November 1, Apple has updated a footnote on its website to note that this feature is delayed until 2025. Some other robots won't work with HomeKit however, a lot of them work with Siri Shortcuts.
